We are so excited to be implementing a brand new STREAM program at St. Timothy's!
STREAM combines Science, Technology, Religion/Reading/Robotics, Engineering, the Arts, and Math into one special area classroom. This will allow students the opportunity for hands-on exploration of subject matter that complements what's being learned in their classroom.
The goal of the STREAM Lab is to infuse a variety of subject areas into one project and allow students choice in their learning; allowing for a deeper understanding and ownership of the information.
And the best part? Seeing how our faith plays into each lesson. Whether it is a metaphorical connection or a look at how God created the world around us, God is at the heart of each project in the STREAM Lab.
Thanks to Shea Homes, we have been blessed with top-of-the-line technologies including Sphero Bolts, Sphero Indis, Sphero Little Bits, hands-on simple machine kits, and a 3D Printer.
Using the Design Process and the 4 Cs as a guide, students will explore various topics that align with the curriculum in a project-based manner. All technologies at our disposal will be interwoven into lessons to allow students to learn a variety of programs and technology skills.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, create, persevere, think outside the box, and work together to solve problems and create. In the STREAM Lab, the sky is the limit!
