Greetings! My name is Mrs. Katherine Ruiz, and I am absolutely delighted to join the St. Timothy Catholic School community as the new fifth-grade teacher. It brings me immense joy to have the opportunity to guide your children through this pivotal year of their academic journey and look forward to a year filled with learning, spiritual growth, and fun.
A bit about my background: I earned my undergraduate degree in Spanish from Arizona State University in 2011 and achieved my certification in elementary education through ASU’s iTeach program in 2013. I am currently in the Master's program in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Canyon University, which I believe will further enhance my ability to effectively support your children's educational needs.
I was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, but spent much of my childhood in Mendoza, Argentina, after my family moved there when I was twelve. My high school years in Argentina were not only memorable but also where I met my wonderful husband, Ariel. We got married, started a family, and in 1995, decided to move back to New Jersey with our three daughters and extended family. However, the call of the West was strong, and in 2000, we made Arizona our permanent home.
Before stepping into the professional world of teaching, I spent many years volunteering in classrooms, which ignited my passion for education. Today, I am a proud mother to three grown daughters and a blessed grandmother to seven grandchildren and one more on its way! Outside the classroom, I cherish time spent with my family, enjoy beach outings, hiking, and tending to my garden.
I am truly excited about the year ahead and can’t wait to embark on this wonderful adventure of teaching your children. Together, we’ll explore new ideas, face challenges head-on, and celebrate every achievement. I am committed to making this school year engaging and rewarding for everyone involved. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this vibrant and faith filled community. With God's guidance, let's make this an incredible year!
